BigLove Indian Hair™ Care Guide
For Raw Indian Hair Extensions, Bundles, Closures & Frontals
Thank you for choosing BigLove Indian Hair™. Our extensions are made from 100% RAW human hair, meaning they behave just like natural hair and require proper maintenance to preserve their beauty and longevity. Please follow the guide below to ensure the best experience. Extensions are an investment, and with the right routine, you’ll enjoy exceptional results.
Please note: We know clients who have been wearing the same hair for over 5 years, and know of clients who have ruined the hair in less than 5 hours. How long the hair last depends on the TLC you give it!
Meet Your BigLove Hair
Raw Indian hair is the crown jewel of the hair world—cuticle-aligned, single-donor, temple-sourced, and authentic. It looks, feels, and behaves like your own natural hair because it is human hair in its purest form. Expect natural black (1B) shades, slight strand variations, and textures like natural wavy, curly, or silky straight.
With the right care, your raw Indian hair extensions and bundles will last a year or more, looking better than processed “virgin hair” alternatives.
Pre-Installation Check (Before You Slay That Install)
Before you install your raw Indian hair bundles or lace closures/frontals, do this quick BigLove prep:
· Inspect the hair with the security zip ties intact.
· Check for consistency in texture (wavy, curly, straight) and length.
· Authentic raw Indian hair will have slight natural variations—this is normal.
Wash first, always. Leave the zip ties on the wefts intact.
Shampoo and condition your bundles with a sulfate-free shampoo to remove any factory residue.
· Rinse with cool water to seal cuticles.
· Air-dry completely before install.
Deep condition (optional but golden).
If you want that silky, luxe feel right away, give your bundles a deep conditioning session.
Our Pro Tip: Use virgin coconut oil—apply, braid, and leave 4+ hours (overnight works best), then lightly wash and condition.
Measure & plan.
Decide how many bundles you’ll use for your style (see bundle guide below).
Example: 3 bundles for 16–20″, 4 bundles for 24″+.
Check your closure/frontal lace.
Match lace (HD or transparent) to your skin tone.
Do a quick bleach-knots or tint if needed before install.
💡 Pro Tip: Never skip this step—prepping your raw Indian hair correctly means fewer tangles, less shedding, and a flawless install that lasts longer.
Golden Rules (short, sweet, saves your day)
· Be gentle. Comb from tips → mid-lengths → roots with a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush.
· Hydrate smart. Use sulfate-free, silicone-light shampoos and nourishing conditioners.
· Low heat > high drama. Heat tools on moderate settings; always use heat protectant.
· Tie it up to glow up. Sleep with a satin bonnet or on a silk/satin pillowcase.
· Water is a frenemy. Before swimming or workouts, braid and apply a leave-in; rinse after.
Wash Day: Step-by-Step (extensions, wigs, sew-ins)
· How often? Every 7–10 days if you style frequently or use product; every 10–14 days if low-maintenance.
· Detangle dry. Hold the weft; brush ends upward.
· Lukewarm rinse. Wet hair downward to keep cuticles closed.
· Sulfate-free shampoo. Dilute in your palm, then smooth from root (weft area) to ends. Don’t rough up the hair.
· Rinse + squeeze. Press, don’t wring.
· Condition. Mid-lengths to ends. Detangle gently. Leave 3–5 minutes.
· Final cool rinse. Adds shine by sealing cuticles.
· Towel blot. Microfiber towel or T-shirt—no twisting.
Bonus for installs: Avoid saturating the braid base or adhesive areas more than necessary to prevent lifting.
Deep-Conditioning (The Shine Maker)
· Every 2–3 washes (or after heat/color), pamper the hair:
· Apply a rich, silicone-light mask from mid-lengths to ends.
· Comb through, clip up, and let it sit 15–30 minutes (steam cap = chef’s kiss).
· Rinse cool and finish with a light leave-in.
· Pro Tip (your coconut-oil secret):
Secret Tip: Condition the hair with virgin coconut oil. Apply from top to ends, braid, and leave for at least 4 hours—preferably overnight. Shampoo lightly next morning, then condition. Expect softer feel, better slip, and revived luster. We recommend Dabur Amla and Coconut oil.
Drying & Styling
· Air-dry when possible. Pat dry, then let it be. If you must blow-dry, use medium heat and a nozzle; aim downward.
· Heat tools: 300–350°F (150–175°C) is plenty for raw Indian hair. Always use a heat protectant.
· Hold the texture: For natural wavy or curly bundles, scrunch with a light curl cream or foam; avoid crunchy gels.
· Avoid heavy oils on lace. Oils can loosen adhesives on closures and frontals.
Sleeping, Gym, and Travel
· Sleep: Braid or pineapple and wear a satin bonnet. Friction is the enemy; satin is the bodyguard.
· Gym: Before workouts, braid and use a light leave-in; rinse sweat out with lukewarm water and refresh with conditioner if needed.
· Travel: Carry a travel-size detangler, paddle brush, and bonnet. Airplane air = desert; a hydrating mist helps.
Coloring & Bleaching (Proceed, but politely)
· Raw Indian hair takes color well, but treat it like premium fabric.
· Strand test first. Porosity varies.
· Darker shades (1–4): Usually simple with demi- or permanent color.
· Lightening/613: Possible, but go low-and-slow; neutralize brass with the right toner.
· Post-color rehab: Deep condition + protein treatment (sparingly) to keep strength and elasticity.
Closures & Frontals: Special Care
· Adhesive areas: Keep oils, heavy conditioners, and makeup removers away from the lace edge and knots.
· Cleansing lace: Use an alcohol-based or adhesive-remover product on a cotton swab; rinse gently.
· Drying: Lay flat on a towel; avoid stretching lace.
· Shedding control: Don’t yank at the parting; when plucking, take a little at a time.
· Heat & lace: Keep direct heat off the lace—tension + heat = warping.
How Many Bundles Do I Need? (Quick Guide)
Bob/short (12–14″): 2 bundles (+ closure/frontal)
Medium (16–20″): 3 bundles
Long (22–26″): 3–4 bundles (raw hair is dense but ends are natural)
Very long (28–30″): 4 bundles
Add a 5×5 or 6×6 closure for easy installs; choose a 13×4 or 13×6 frontal for max styling flexibility.
Troubleshooting (fast fixes)
Tangling at nape: Switch to satin/silk at night, detangle daily, add a pea-size leave-in, and clarify build-up every 3–4 washes.
Dry/crunchy ends: Trim dusted ends, deep condition, add a few drops of light serum only on ends.
Shedding: Seal wefts (if needed), detangle from ends, avoid aggressive brushing on wet hair, minimize alcohol-heavy styling products.
Frizz in humidity: Light foam or mousse + cool-shot finish; avoid heavy butters.
Maintenance Schedule (save/print-ready)
Daily: Light detangle, ends serum if needed, bonnet at night.
Weekly/10 days: Wash (sulfate-free) + condition; style with heat protectant.
Bi-weekly: Deep condition (or Pro Tip coconut-oil treatment overnight).
Monthly: Clarify to remove build-up (then deep condition).
Quarterly: Micro-trim ends for long wear.
Do’s & Don’ts (because lists work)
Do:
Use wide-tooth combs, satin at night, heat protectant, sulfate-free shampoo, and regular deep conditioning.
Don’t:
Sleep with wet hair, crank heat to max, slather oils on lace, or skip detangling “just this once.”
